Pedro's on a Mound, That's What Counts

Though I'm not quite sure what it is that makes Baseball fans so childlike in the adulation of their heroes, I do know that Pedro is the personification of those heroes that we hold so dear. There is a kind of magic about this man. There were times in 2005 when Pedro's fastball never broke 85, but after watching him baffle batters with incomparable regularity, I was sure that I had never before seen a pitcher so soundly dominate the opposition. His mastery of his craft and his ability to inspire his teammates (not only the defense that supports him, but.....remember how Carlos Beltran seemed to homer only in the games that Pedro started?) is unsurpassed by any active pitcher. If he can stay on his feet, no matter what he brings to the table, he'll bring his brain and spirit and his imdominable will to win to bear on the remainder of this rather tenuous season.......I can hardly wait.
