As it turned out, Hillel Halkin's forecast came true, Bibi Netanyahu won by a wide majority.
This outcome was good for Likud and good for Israel.
It might negate most of the more radial religous sense of power, and force them back into the traditional parties., where, based on Israel's system of government (over 60 parties), they are appropriate.
Israel should really have 3 parties, Labor to the left, a middle-right conservative, and the religious. The remainder just complicate an already confused electoral system., making governing, unwieldly and ineffective.
