The article was good till you hit gun control. This is a knee jerk response to the violent crime issue. The only thing that gun control does is to remove the gun from those who abide by the law and allow criminals to have a edge in any confrontation. A good example of this is Australia, they eliminated guns. The result has been horrible. Crime sky rocketed and home invasion took off. The doctor whose family was killed in Conn. could definitely have benefited from guns in the house and a willingness to use them. In fact, if you really want to reduce violent crime, emphasize a need for personal protection.
