Reporter Wins A Court Battle With Government

We, and I think I speak for a lot of people, have had just about enough of this government. The government, as I look at it is, the congress, meaning the Senate and the House of Representatives (a misnomer, to be sure) and to some extent the office of the President. By all configurations, the office of the President is to be a "figurehead" position, acting only as a "check and balance" to the congress. In the same aspect, the congress is to be a "check and balance" to the office of the President, with the Supreme Court being the ultimate "check and balance" to the whole masquerade, taking place in Washington. The disconnect seemed to begin with FDR and his ultimate takeover of the government prior to, during and after World War II. That is where the "socialization" of the government began. We, the people, continue to give the government more and more power over us, as we sit on our hands and do nothing, as this government, probably the most shoddily run in a very long time, takes over more and more of our liberties and freedoms. In order to obtain the "more perfect union" as desired by Abraham Lincoln, we must take over this government and stop thinking like lemmings mindlessly racing toward our own destruction. There have been more than this one "victory" over this government in many areas, but more especially in the area of taxation and the limits of the taxation system over our everyday life. The major media is supportive in the quest of the government to take over our lives and, for the life of me, I can't understand it. If there is one thing this government has, with regard to its existence, is, the protection of the people, "from all enemies, foreign and domestic". Nothing more and nothing less. Where government ever got the idea that they must control our lives and all its aspects, is beyond my ability to comprehend, but being the the kind of sheepish people we've become, there is little doubt that in the not too distant future, we will all be living the lives of the people of the Soviet Union (remember when "Russia" was called the "Soviet Union, anyone?), which means there will only be "freedom" for the elite and those who they choose to allow to have some modicum of "freedom". We had better wake up and do it soon, or else we'll be calling each other "comrade" or some other kind of Clintonian newspeak word from the new vocabulary, which will be born from the unions of Mexico, Canada and the United States. God help us, but I hope I'm gone by then. The power remains with the people but, as long as the "people" desire to keep on giving more and more "power" to the government, I fear we are doomed as a "people". As for me, I'm voting for Newt Gingrich in 2008.
