I was born and raised in Arizona. We have been fighting, campaigning, sending in undercover law enforcement, etc., for many years to attempt to end this brutal "sport". In addition, Arizona has also fought diligently to put an end to cock-fighting. It is unfortunate that it has taken a crime of this magnitude to finally get the country's attention; but, as the man says, better late than never. My family and I have always believed that any time animals are used and abused for profit that the animals inevitably lose. As Gandhi said, "the greatness of a nation is judged by its treatment of animals". We can only hope that this story galvanizes the country into taking swift and severe action!
