Thompson's Hot Water

"What's really at stake here, he asks, when Mr. Thompson's donations will all be disclosed once he declares?" Really, disclosed at the very same day? I've read that Thompson can avoid disclosing his campaign finances until January 31st, if he declares candidacy on September 6th. So, while all other candidates will be risking criticism if something in their finances isn't kosher, Thompson will have a free ride for some additional months. That's not fair, and that's why it would be good if the FEC would put an end to his kabuki theatre.
