During Vietnam, Bush and Cheney were more likely fooling around with beakers of dope than beacons of hope.

I think President Bush and the rest of those in his administration who had "other priorities" during the Vietnam War should stay on task by focusing on Iraq and Afghanistan and keep their opinions about Vietnam to themselves. They had their chance to "save civilization" then and shied away--and they'll probably do the same in the Middle East and continue to blame their failures on the "appeasers" (and you can define "appeasers" as everybody who isn't self-destructive).

Should we pull the plug on the Middle East? There's no plug, there's no socket, there's no wall. It's a black hole in the sand surrounded by ghosts.
