As someone who has been a victim of "peeping" I applaud this small measure to ban such practices. The fact that I had a neighbor plant a wireless camera on my fire escape pointed into my bedroom window disgusts me. What disgusts me more is that the NYPD did absolutely nothing to find the pervert or investigate people that they had clearcut leads on.
This law won't be able to stop people who actually thrive on exhibitionism, but I certianly hope it will go a small way to protect those of us who have been raped of ever feeling private again.
Male or female, the right to be private in one's own home is something that should never be compromised, and it is about time that someone took a stand to protect those of us who have been fighting for that one simple right.
