These Yankees Reminiscent of 1985

The Yankees target should be Seattle, not Boston. Yes, the wild card makes a big difference. The 2007 version has no one like Rickey Henderson. Rivera is superior to Righetti, Chamberlain is younger and more talented than Fisher. The Yankee relief corps was so desparate in 1985, they called up Curt Kauffman, who as George might say, spit the bit. Finally, Toronto had Tom Henke as closer with Ward as set-up man. Not too many teams have that good a set-up for the late innings. The differences far outweigh the similarities. Historical analogies are usually off the mark, whether it be Truman confusing Korea for Munich or comparing the 2007 Yankees to the 1985 team
