New York's Medical Malpractice Bill Rises

Submitted by Catherine Reuter, Aug 24, 2007 09:02

As a consumer our medical industry at a minimum is scary. I spent two years in a hospital with my own mother, and the spectrum of good and bad care was amazing. Consumers need to wake up and realize there is NO such thing as a safe hospital. All hospital's have medical errors around the world. The answer to keeping yourself save is FIND an excellent advocate to watch over you while you are at a hospital, and sometimes this advocate role does not work.

Every consumer should walk into thier hospital stay with a note pad and pen. Take names ask what they are doing. Remember the nurse's and doctors make thier own documentation why shouldn't you?

There will always be Malpractice lawsuits because our Medical Industry simple can't get it together quick enough. Since the IOM report over 8 years that stated 98,000 are lost a year to medical errors. Imagine that number over 8 years is close to 800,000 live.
