Maybe increased density needs to be stopped and reduced? It seems to me that to continually allow more and bigger/taller buildings in every corner where previously a 4-5 story series of buildings stood for the last 100 years MIGHT be adding to the growing problem of overloading our existing storm and sewer systems???
No where in this series of articles regarding the flooding of the subways systems by a fast strong rain storm do I see this factor even mentioned. If we have buildings, housing maybe 200 residents, replaced with taller buildings housing 4,000 residents, it would make sense that the existing sewer systems will be put under increased use that is compounded when the storm drain systems are overloaded with fast heavy rains, as happend 8/8/07, leading to the overflowing of storm and sewer systems into the subway tunnels and the flooding of the subway lines electrical third rail
