Dear Mr. Buckley:
I love your humor (humour, today).
In my humble opinion, the socialistic society of today's United Kingdom, renders it (and other European nations) that much more vulnerable to the demands of their growing Muslim populations' demands. In the United States, for the better part of the 20th century--we maintained cultural attachments to our families' original roots: yet there was a Mulligan stew affect on the children--while religious variations were respected. And the parents and grandparents worked hard for their children--and those children obtained love, unconditionally.
More recently, we, and our European friends, have grown lazy. Instead of being givers; we have become takers--and our children reflect those characteristics. History tells us of opium--we have toxic drug infestation as well--some prescribed, others purchased underground.
We need to be strong, and strength of character is, perhaps, the most vital component that is lacking today--here as well as abroad.
Nancy Joyce Jancourtz.
