I would be very happy to see that the "Medallion Monopoly" to go away. The question is how and when. If you are serious about what your saying, then you don't need the GPS to start the process, and there won't not be the strike. Was the NYC Yellow Cab drivers created the medallions? If there are plantiful drivers who can do the jobs right, why bother to force the GPS? Is the GPS would make "Drivers spend much of their time talking on their cellular phones and often balk at being asked to go somewhere outside Manhatt" go away? Can the Mayor Bloomberg address the "Medallion Monopoly" or "Drivers spend much of their time talking on their cellular phones and often balk at being asked to go somewhere outside Manhatt" first before the GPS?
I guess that he surelly knows how to avoid the real issues, and makes everyone think that he is not responsible for anything? Is the GPS free? Don't you know who ownes these medallions, and who issues the licenses to drivers?
There should be no reasons at all for the strike!
"Truth is found in life and not merely in conceptual knowledge. Be ready to learn throughout our entire life and to observe reality in yourself and in the world at all times."
"Do not force others, including children, by any means whatsoever, to adopt your views, whether by authority, threat, money, propaganda, or even education. However, through compassionate dialogue, help others renounce fanaticism and narrowness."
"The finger pointing at the moon is not the moon."--Thich Nhat Hanh--
If we can start to think about it, we might all have a chance to see a better future!
Peace and love!
