The most appalling statistic is that an estimated 43% of elementary children are overweight. Responsibility rests with the parents. If a parent was found to be abusing their child, action would be taken, yet this is a form of abuse. I am not advocating legal action, but I do believe that parenting should be encouraged to attend classes on about healthy eating.
