The government of Turkey is extremely backward in it's thinking. For example, they believe that Israel controls the ADL. This is a result of them believing the typical Moslem anti-Semitic rhetoric about Jews controling the U.S. and the world press. This attitude alone should prevent them from joining the EU, except that the EU is not much better. The slow pace away from secularism is quickening. This is potentially a disaster for the west. Unfortunately, a military removal of this neo-Islamic government is necessary to preserve a Turkey that can live with the west. This must be done before Gul attempts to appoint an Islamic general in charge of the military.
