With the inclusion of the essay in 2005, the top score for th SAT is now 2400, not 1600 - three 800 point sections, reading, writing, math. It would be interesting to see a study that shows a correlation between study time and scores. I have to agree with BobH - students often excel in areas where they devote the most practice and effort. For many students, the proof of their actions indicates lip service to SATs, but those parties - yes, those are important.
