Having lived through the Vietnam era and having received my draft notice in 1970,I can tell the difference between then and now. Then there was a draft and now we have a voluneer army. Our leaders do not discern the difference. The elites are still protesting Vietnam and the comparisons between Vietnam and the middle east are different. The Vietnamese never blew up our buildings. They did not declared war on us.Our way of life and that of future generations never hung in the balance as they do now.America needs to determine what it stands for and we need to assert ourselves by defending what we believe is valuable and worthy in our society. With the advent of nuclear arms in the hands of the jihadists time is running out.Are we going to be lemmings or are we going to survive as a society?
