Turkey's Military Boycotts Presidential Inauguration

This article presents this proof. From the article:

the State Department has pointed to the AKP as a model for Islamists to participate in open democratic political systems.

Yesterday, President Bush congratulated Mr. Gul in a telephone call. A State Department deputy spokesman, Tom Casey, hailed Mr. Gul's election as a "testament to the maturity of Turkish democracy and the strength of the Turkish constitution."

Our State Department and President, the same ones that exude great respect and 'love' for Saudi Arabia - a country which declared war on the U.S. by launching a boycott of oil against the U.S., and definately one of the worst tyrannies in world - have opted in favor of the new Islamist regime in Turkey. Does anyone remember how these same geniuses advocated and supported elections in Gaza? Candidate Guiliani understood that 'free elections' in populations that are ill prepared for such will lead to disaster. A miitary takeover of Turkey is needed promptly before it is too late.
