Sadly, the Western Reserve Historical Society has a sordid history of mismanagement, and selling off artifacts. WRHS used to have a mission to educate and inform; this has become progressively more narrow with time. WRHS has behaved in a particularly deceitful manner towards the citizens of Cleveland by putting Neskhons on 'permanent loan' a few years ago, only to sell him off now. "Out of sight, out of mind" is the new watchword at this failure of a museum.
Selling Neskhons, a deceased human being, like he was just another table or item of jewelry, is inexcusable, especially as he is irreplaceable!
I do wish WRHS would reconsider, and perhaps rely on other fund-raising efforts to balance its budget.
