Saudi Arabia: The Islamist Cage

Submitted by Khalid AlSaeed, Aug 30, 2007 05:44

Dear Editor,

It furies and dismays Muslim to read an irrational arguments such as ("Saudi Arabia: The Islamist Cage" by Youssef Ibrahim, Foreign Sections, Pg7, August 27) for an ignorant writer who's main objective is to sabotage the solid relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia, the leader of both the Arab and Muslim worlds, by a desperate attempt to capitalize on the political instability in the region for self interest purposes.

"No safe haven for terrorists in Saudi Arabia", a slogan that has been reiterated by the Saudi King and Crown Prince for years to root out all terrorist roots spilled out mainly by the outstanding and chronic Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the former Soviet Union invasion of Muslim countries in the 70s and the current political situation. However, Saudi Arabia has a moral responsibility to support other Muslim countries by building schools, medial facilities and other social infrastructure and adopting reconciliatory initiatives regionally with the knowledge, blessing, support, and cooperation of the American government.

The shallow social analysis of the writer that the feeling of humiliation of colonialism is major reason why Saudi Arabia has strong Islamic values that can only be compared to the grown American bond with Christian values shows his bias view against Saudi Arabia.
