Saudi Arabia: The Islamist Cage
in response to reader comment: Youssef Ibrahim or US Government

Dear Mr. Horan

Reading your comments, I hope that you are not part of the media or government, because the last people we need in this time of heated cultural and religious confrontation is people who add gas to fire, instead of water. The ( so-called ) Islam happen to be the religion of 1.5 billion people on this earth. They beleive in it ( wether you call it Islam or Mohammedianism, or ... whatever you want to call it tomorrow ) and is unlikely they will change. Any one who knows how this world in which we live is connected, whether financialy, environment, terrorism-fight,..etc, will see the real ( puerile ) in what you wrote.

What you don't know is that the colunms of most of the well-known colunminsts in the US media are translated and published in many Arab and Moslem Countries, and I can speak for my country, Saudi Arabia where the opinion page of ( Arab News ) is domiated by western writers. If your media allow us 1% of what we allow your writers,we will be happy.

Please, go back to basic economics and see what you import from those people who beleive in this ( cancer ) and see wether you can survive without it. When you take the SUV, on Sunday and go to fill it with puerile gas before hitting the smoth freeway paved with asphalt from those cancerous people, then go for the lake and start the boat's engine with Mohammedainian gas, then I hope you remeber we live in a small world where we need each other and what one does affect the other.

If I, and for that matter millions of people, have to choose who to trust, Bush, Blair or yourself, you certainly be out by a huge margin

Hamad S Alomar
