Congress is back in session and I'm sure the Democrats are prepared to pull the plug on Iraq.
There's no doubt the surge is working, but I don't think that whether or not it was going to be successful was ever really important to the Democrats. They were less interested in success in Iraq than they were in political gain. Failure in Iraq has been deemed critical to their success at the polls, and I think they're going to do everything possible to ensure defeat.
General Petraeus and the troops have done all that's been expected and more. The "bottom up" strategy is working and I suspect that's another reason the Democrats don't like what's happening. They're a "top down" party (welfare, health care, taxes, education, etc) and cannot conceive of anything that could possibly work from the bottom up.
I pray that our success in Iraq will continue and show the "wise men" of the Democratic Party to be nothing more than the fools they are.
