Re Daniel Pipes' ideas on moderate Islam:

Most Muslims are not jihadists because they disagree with or have doubts about what the jihadists are doing. It would be constructive to support their doubt…a doubter would not kill himself and others.
Recognize that by abrogating the early, moderate writings in the Koran, the jihadists are saying that Allah made mistakes in his early pronouncements. This is unbelief. By killing innocents, using coercion in religion, waging offensive war, etc., the jihadists are placing themselves above Allah's word and going against what most Muslims approve of.

Of course, it would be constructive if these ideas were expressed more vocally by Muslims.
