The "theft and violence" Dr. McWhorter writes about suggests that the largest part of the problem may not be the schools. Rosa Parks wrote (Dear Mrs. Parks, p. 54): "I do not question so much how to make the schools better. Rather, we should seek ways to encourage students to come to school to learn, not spend precious time ridiculing others."
