in response to reader comment: seperation of church and state

Submitted by Lisa, Sep 6, 2007 15:46

To what end would the government insist that a church or parachurch organization state their specific beliefs on homosexuality? Supposedly it is to allow the church or para church org to be "protected" when they deny a homosexual a job. I see something far more insideous. By forcing all organizations to state their position on homosexualtiy etc, those that disagree would know exactly where to target their efforts of attack and pressure. It will achieve nothing more than painting a big red bullseye on every organization that does not approve of homosexuality. The Liberals are no dummies. They may not be able to make law to force churches to hire homosexuals but they know the public pressure from groups like the Human Rights Campaigne, GLAAD, Gay/Straight Alliance etc. will be immense to do so as soon as they get the list of orgainizations that have stated their opposition. The Democrats are attempting legislating Christian hate into law, get ready, its going to get ugly... I say equal protection under the law - are their any homosexual organizations that would hire a Chrisitan that does not agree with their position on the issue? I don't think so...
