In a famous Channel 4 debate the audience was asked if Islam were a danger to Freedom of Speech, and after 45 minutes of television gimickry, voted "no". They arived at this verdict through misinformation, and poor framing. The chap arguing for free speech, couldn't stand his ground against the barrister trained opponent.

There is a lot more to the question of Islam in the West ,than meets the eye. Discrediting portions of the Koran may be advisable, if Muslims do not refuse to reinterpret certain verses in light of democratic principles.

What we need is a media campaign to inform people about certain inconsistencies between the Koran and Pluralism, not a judicial straightjacket.
