City To Battle at High Court Over Special Education
in response to reader comment: realistic

As far as being 'realistic'...... Let's talk about the school districts 'legal fees'. A vast majority of school districts have insurance that pays for the lawyer who represents them in a due process hearing where a parent will pay out-of-pocket. The school district employs its teachers, service providers and specialist so there is no extra costs for their expert witnesses during the due process hearings while a parent must pay out-of-pocket for their expert witnesses along with any evaluations that are performed. Parents also pay out-of-pocket for the school's attorney and expert witnesses through their taxes.
