There is great anticipation in me for this Act to be passed. I'm a current senior at a college preparatory school. I have attended this school for the past five years. I've nothing more that the goal of college but now that I'm faced with college applications I can't help to tear up. I'm an illegal immigrant. It's hard to say it but it's true. I was brought here when I was only four years old. I passed legally but my visa has expired and I can no longer go back. I've studied all my life here in the United States and I even want to devote myself to help the environment. I want to study Environmental Science to help resolve the great problem we are dealing with but somehow that dream is becoming each and everyday very grim. I want this act to pass so badly. There is nothing but remorse for those who have it worse than me but my dream is to be able to help my home become a better place to live. How can anyone deny that right from me by not letting me obtain the knowledge I need to give back to this wonderful nation that has nurtured me for the past 13 years.
It's no fair that the people who want to use their abilities for good are the ones who can't go to college. I see lots of students who are legal that take many things for granted. It's just not fair.
