American presidential elections seem to split an essentially moderate electorate between two relatively extreme ideological poles. There is no consensus because our political options force us to chose which square peg of ideology we must force into the round slot that is what we truly want. Ms. Furchtgott-Roth describes a candidate who sees our country both as it is now and as we would like for it to be. I hope this description of Mr. Thompson rings true.
