I was 16 and accompanying my sister on a date to "see if we could be extras in a film" they were making at the old tv studios in Carefree, AZ, outside Phoenix. It was 1973 and sure enough, a film was being made and they needed extras. We were to be film press, buffs, and erstwhile cinema freaks on the sidelines of this big gala for Jake Hannaford- an outgoing director. Indeed, it was Orson Welles' The Other Side of the Wind and John Huston, Peter Bogdonavich, Susan Strausberg, Gregory Sierra, were among the cast on the set. There are many other anecdotes but won't post now......
