NYC Health Board Bans Trans Fats in Restaurants

That's New York. It boggles the mind how these petty bureaucrats and the self-styled Health KGB dictate how we live. There is no conclusive scientific evidence that eating trans fats causes heart disease. Does any sane person truly believe that eating KFC or french fries occasionally wlll damage your heart?

What's next?? And make no mistake about it, there will be a "next." Hey, why not pass a law outlawing olives because they are salty and we all know that too much salt is unhealthy? Why not a law forcing children to brush their teeth every night because we all know that if they don't they get cavities? Just because something may or may not be good for you doesn't mean that the govenment can dictate that you do or not do it. And yes, it is about your freedom.

When many of us said that this calculated health fascism will not stop with cigarettes, we were right. It will never stop as long as people allow it to happen. We are simply frogs in a slow-boiling pot.
