Terribly sorry, but I must take exception to your editorialist's term "immigrant-haters", as I feel that such invective only serves to denigrate the genuine concerns of most Americans, in that we are essentially allowing our country to be invaded by a culture that is seemingly incapable, or unwilling to become "Americanized". Just because of their sheer numbers, the Mexican invaders are able, (more than any other immigrant group that has ever entered America), to essentially import their entire culture, including their native language. The basic unity of any nation is its language; it is the common denominator. By allowing ourselves to be Balkanized, we are laying the foundation of our undoing.

As an admirer of Mayor Giuliani, I am pleased that he has the common sense, (so lacking in most attorneys), to know that America must "close the border to illegal immigration". I can only hope that he also will strive to deport the invaders already here, after he becomes our new President. That The Sun's editorialist would label me as an "immigration restrictionist", let me respond by saying I will gladly wear that intended slur as a badge of honor. Since when is defending American culture a pejorative? Most of our ancestors understood when they came to America that they were obligated to adopt the English language as their primary language. Today in many neighborhoods, English is not the primary language….and in some cases it is barely even heard anymore.

One keeps hearing that "undocumented citizens…do the jobs that Americans will no longer do…", and this notion somehow justifies the invasion we are witnessing. Tell me O Sun editorialist, what happens when the invaders will no longer do those jobs either? Hhmmmm? Now, who is the "modern-day know-nothing"?
