Illegal immigration is just that, 'ILLEGAL' - the fact that our government chooses not to regard as a criminal activity (civil or otherwise) is just that, a choice.

Personally I'm a little fed up with the tired position that illegal immigrants are simply here doing the jobs no else wants - what we really mean is that illegal immigrants provide business with an unending source of dirt cheap labor, with no 'messy' concerns about employee health care, safety standards, benefits, taxes or any other 'quality of life' issues that your parents and grand parents fought long and hard to achieve. Illegal immigration is a gift to the greedy and socially irresponsible businesses of this country - plain and simple.

It isn't that legal citizens don't want work, it's they simply aren't willing to do it for the wages that many American businesses want to pay. And it isn't that competition won't support decent, equitable wages, it's just vastly more profitable to squeeze labor - you have only to look at corporate profits and the exploding wealth of corporate executives to see where that's going!

Guilliani's excuse is that we can't enforce the law - yes we can, start by clamping down HARD on businesses that employee illegals. Why should you or I have to produce documentation to hold a job, but apparently no one working for half the agricultural or food processing concerns in America is required to do the same?

What a sad state of affairs!
