I cannot find any mention of figures showing the dramatic decrease in terorist events over the past year.

Based on the General's comments yesterday it sounds like the number of road bombings, suicide bombings, etc. has been decreased from something over 800 per month a year ago to 200 per month currently. I think the "per month" is correct but not certain.
