People in many neighborhoods that surround commercial and government centers
are more than familiar with traffic calming methods that can be used to reduce and slow
down traffic. The conjestion pricing concept is just a new sexier one what with it's London
connection. There is no need for federal tax dollars to be used to study ways to reduce
traffic. However there is a need to get new people at the Department of Transportation
and take the whole matter out of the political process. When that happens we won't need
traffic calming because pigs will be flying and we can ride them instead.
