Packers Top Eagles (Despite Having Favre)

Submitted by Scott, Sep 11, 2007 13:14

Seriously, are you a real journalist? The article reads like you just looked at the box score and maybe a game summary. No insights into how Favre or anyone actually played, just some criticism based on numbers.

I'm not saying Favre was why the Packers won, but saying the Packers won "despite Favre" is just being inflammatory. Did he have an inspiring performance? No. Did he look like Peyton Manning? No. But if you watched the game you'd have seen constant Eagles pressure in the backfield immediately and absolutely no run game allowing max coverage every time. The Eagles even eased off their blitzes once they realized they didn't need them to get pressure. You'd also have seen Driver on a bad foot and a rookie WR complemented by two young cast-off WR's. Did Favre miss a pass or two? Yes, who doesn't. Essentially, you saw a team that was overwhelmed and overmatched offensively, with Favre being about the only one on offense who even looked like a legitimate NFL starter. Perhaps if you actually did your work and watched film or had insights you'd work for a far more prominent sports news source.
