OPTION FIVE is an old self-help term basically telling to leave the problem alone; i.e., if you can't fix the problem then leave it alone, do nothing, and let time take time. Upon President Bush, let it be that he need not rush into doing anything here. There is no full Constitutional Mandate requiring that the United States must have an Ambassador to the United Nations, as there is no Constitutional Mandate that this country must pay anything to this third party and nebulous international institution. Somehow through sixty years of repetition there are those that believe that there is such an entity as the United Nations but if one stops for just a moment and ponders the question "What is it?" the response "It is nothing!" quickly gains merit. In essence the United Nations is a building located at the far east end of 42nd Street in New York City whose tenants are a myriad of self-interest representatives from large and small nation states around the world. Beyond that the United Nations is a myth surrounded by a lot of make believe and being a myth the noise emitting from the United Nations should be considered just that noise whose value is selective and subjective without any further thought. From the prospective of the United States of America, there are reasons – many reasons – to leave the position "Ambassador to the United Nations" vacant.
