On the wake of Anita Roddick's death, I thought you may want to know that it is due to her that Botswana's greatest income generation for rural women exists today.

Having developed the production and use of this amazing moisturizer extracted from the Marula nut, known in Southern Africa as "Miracle Oil", Body Shop singlehandedly created a vehicle for income for thousands (if
not hundreds of thousands) of women throughout South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.

The group I buy Marula Oil from supplies pure essential oil to several boutique body/beauty producers here in the United States, as well as to Body Shop. Most recently, they were given a grant from UNDP to expand marketing to the US in order to give extend their reach to including 3,000 women in remote villages in Northeastern Botswana.

Serving as a model of fair trade sustainable business development and practice Anita Roddick serves as a wonderful role model for us all--her life's work has left this world a better place for us to live.
