Goodell put himself in a difficult spot when he suspended Pacman Jones for the year, and then suspended Vick indefinitely before the trial took place. Because if these allegations against Belichick prove to be true, then he has to suspend him, in my opinion, at least a year to be fair. Pacman and Vick committed actions that tarnished the reputation of the game, but they were outside the realm of the game. Belichick allegedly broke rules set up inside the game and tarnishes more than the reputation of the game- the integrity. Now I'm not saying Goodell's suspensions are fair or just, but Belichick committed an act much more detrimental to the game than Jones and Vick. If Belichick gets away with a slap on the wrist, many Black-rights organizations will go crazy, for good reason. If Goodell wants to be fair, he has to suspend Belichick for the year if he wants to be fair. Especially since the league explicitly told teams not to film other teams and Belichick still had the audacity to allegedly do it. It wasn't like he told Vick and Jones exactly what not do and they still did it. Belichick knew the consequences and if he still acted against them, I hope Goodell comes down just as hard, if not harsher.
