How the Mariners' Ship Sank So Fast

I'm tired of seeing washed up free agents coming to Seattle with prospects waiting for a chance to prove themselves. Rich Aurillia and Carl Everett failed miserably with their time in Seattle, Richie Sexson hasn't been worth the price paid for him and Adrian Beltre barely lives up to his salary expectations. Another issue that frustrates so many of us fans is the inabliity to trade for any impact player. We lost Soriano(right handed fireballer) for a proven injury concern and then we go after a righthander for a minor league prospect and get a piece of trash to dump in the following weeks.

The major complaint I have with Bavasi and maybe the Seattle front offices is the decision to sign Beltre and Sexson for more money than they could have paid for Tejada and Vlad the season before. If we are going to sign old free agents or trade youth for players who have minimal upside, why cant we at least take the risk and bring Griffey back to Seattle. He'll bring the fans to the ballpark and everyone knows he should retire a Mariner.
