1. In the 18 wins, Wang's ERA is below 2.5, that means he did pitch good in those games which showing his constant, he has never won a game by pitching 5 innings and giving up 5 runs as you said, no matter how many runs support he got.(even Royals got more than 2.5 runs per game), he deserves those wins. But you criticize he got 18 wins because he got 7.X run support, this is totally bias, you just reject to see the whole story.
2. Wang went distance(25 of his 27 start more than 6 innings), so that he have enough time to get support from offense, if he pitch 5 inning or so at times, he should not have so many wins, it is a easy concept even children understand.
