Dennis Prager is not ignorant. He is courageous. If you disagree with him that is fine, but that does not make him ignorant. He is brilliant. Mr. Prager never argued that Keith Ellison has no right to use his Koran for his ceremony. He never argued the law. What he argued is that our country is on a slippery slope. The country's values emanate from the Bible. Whether you want to admit it or not, he is right. The fact that our country has revered the Bible for 200 years is what makes it possible for Mr. Ellison to practice as a Muslim here. One cannot be a Christian, and certainly not a Jew in Arabia. No way--not allowed. The point is that the US has a unique Judeo-Christian background from the beginning. Europe is going down. They do not have the Judeo-Christian values that have made our country great. Those who argue that Mr. Prager does not grant Ellison his rights, are wrong. Mr. Prager's argument is that our values are what are important; they are being forgotten. When Mr. Ellison openly declares that in his ceremony he will use a Koran, and not a Bible, he has made it an issue, not Mr. Prager. Mr. Ellison will already have taken the oath of office. His declaration of intent of what he will do at his personal ceremony is significant. Few if any people have openly rejected our heritage upon taking the oath of office such as Mr. Ellison has done. Mr. Ellison has every right to believe what he wants. However, what Mr. Prager sees is that if we do not protect our heritage, the freedom of individuals will be lost. The reason for this is that the Bible is the source of our value system--the source of the US constitution; the constitution is just a technical document--it is based on the values of the Bible. Those are the values that allow all groups to be who they are in the US. No country has the freedom of the US--not Europe and certainly not a Muslim country, where there is generally little tolerance for people who are not Muslim. Remember our source, if you forget your source, our country will be lost--it is a slippery slope.
