Optimism and War

"...For reasons of morale, wartime military leaders the world over emphasize the positive even on the darkest days. ..." Seems to remind me of a certain war about 220 years ago when an unorganized, under staffed and under armed 13 Colonies militarily went up against a Major World Power and it's Tyrannic Monarchy in an attempt NEVER before tried; a War they started in order to try a Grand New Experiment in Self-Government based in VOTING & Representation in a Democratic Form of a Three Branch Government as opposed to the then " Taxation without Representation" Kingship of England. This War Started by those who felt that Self-Governing was worth the risks of death and seperation from the Mother Country that had so long taken care of their defense and protection, had ten times as more Failures to any one success military wise-but naturally that poor performance was kept inhouse and behind close doors as much as possible so as not to lose the backing of any outside allies nor support on the home front. If I remember correctly (and anyone out there who finds that I am wrong please feel free to correct me) we managed to WIN That War Of Independence from Mother England and thus started such a fire under all other systems of man governing over eachother that the repercussions have been felt all over the world and is still ongoing today.
