Artists Stand Ground As Waterfront Changes

Becoming a member of BWAC was an eye opening experience for someone who grew up in the area.I was born at 588 court street in 1945. The opportunity to return to my roots as a result of showing my art about red hook at the BWAC instillation on VAN Brunt st.was more than nostalgic. I have taken the opportunity to visit old friends and renew old feelings that well up each time I drive it`s sometimes cobble stoned streets.I remember playing ball in these very same streets untill I heard my fathers whisteling me and my brother home for dinner. My memories are rich and my friendshis are lasting, thanks to being born in such a magical place.I truly hope that the redevelopment of this area is kept under strict cintrol enabling artists to proliforate wihout going broke as has happened many times before.
