I think that any cogent military hitorian will agree that Japan had been dealt a "crippling blow" in the Battle of Midway. That, however, didn't end the war in the Pacific, which ground on for more than three more years and costs thousands of American lives. But by using greg's simplistic analysis, Midway was a disaster for the US Navy because there were further casualties, more in the months and years that followed than in those that preceded. Hey, greg, don't give up your civilian job and please don't teach history.
