The Book Is Dead; Long Live the Book

Submitted by Nancy Joyce Jancourtz, Dec 6, 2006 10:14

I am one who "reads" and "writes" on my PC daily--as a free-lance writer, and I spend at least 7 or 8 hours per day (often longer) reading the virtual page...

SORRY; IT IS A DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE FROM READING A BOOK--AND TURNING THE PAGES. Such reading actually enables me to work, as my health limits my traveling capability. Yet, the difference is mainly in the reflective capability granted by the conventional page...One stops and returns, sometimes for mere moments--often for hours, when life's other activities permit. And, should I even go to the Post Office--where a waiting line is usual; I bring my reading material--including printed-out articles, and/or a book.

Sorry, SONY. I have had your excellent TV for years, as well as other equipment--but this just isn't "remotely" necessary.
