Dear Mr. Bray--
You are so correct. Our learning activities within the public schools in New York City are positioned for failure! And, I would suspect that such is persistent throughout the nation.
Government should not be responsible for non-obligatory higher education. The possibility is there for those who choose to pursue same--and are willing to work for it. Meanwhile, our children must have the opportunity to obtain excellent elementary and high school educations--so that many can earn various scholarships available to those who qualify.
And most importantly, all parents and caretakers must have the opportunity to choose their children's schools, by the use of vouchers, and tax credits--ans other equitable means for donations made by generous others.
Our children need be prepared to lead our nation, after we are gone; lest ye forget.
Nancy Joyce Jancourtz.
