Lessons From ‘War'

Regarding this observation: "When it comes to picking our next commander in chief, it is worth considering who would be best in a crisis, who has the confidence and commitment to do what is necessary, come what may, and who has the perspicacity to recognize danger when it is on the horizon, not when it has already reached our shores or those of our friends and allies.".. YES, by this measure, anyone but Bush and his Republican would-be successors. Bush & Co. willfully disregarded the danger of which they were warned, probably to serve their own larger schemes (Iraq), and if and when they are hit by the next terrorist attack, they will feign surprise and ignorance again ("A cargo container? Who would have ever thought it?") These are the last bunch of incompetents I want in charge, in the face of the very real threat of terrorism. Though I'm sure you (editor) meant to imply exactly the opposite.
