Reckoning With Syria

Submitted by david elman, Sep 19, 2007 23:07

The US has not had real leadership since Nixon. He at least got us out of Vietnam, even though Congress screwed it up afterwards. Let's face it, every American president since Carter has dropped the ball on Iran and the rest of the middle east. Today, Bush has tried to do something but has withered on the vine.

The fact is, Iran and its proxies and allies are steadily moving forward to their goal of controlling the world's economy and agenda. If geopolitics means anything, that is the meaning today. And where is our leadership on this vital issue? Nowhere I can see it, just a lot of "coulds" and "shoulds" and "whatifs".

There isn't anyone with the balls to do what really is necessary and completely barbarian: utterly destroy Syria and Iran. Once they are gone, and this I mean literally, then the world will be able to recover some sanity. Waiting for the "shoe to drop" will do nothing. And we are in this position because of Carter, Reagan, Bush one, Clinton, and Bush two.
