My comments were on a much broader road than the path you followed. You omitted my line about our needing heroes which of course referred to Balanchine. I am indeed thankful that he did something wonderful for this country. Ballet would still be a novelty act if it wasn't for him. My comments were on the whole rather balanced whereas yours distorted a simple closing comment. But I am sure I will recognize you the next time I'm at State Theater. You'll be the one with the Balanchine pennent waving it enthusiastically in the audience. Relax. He's dead. For the record, Kirstine spent more time yelling at Peter Martins than either he or Balanchine ever spent in the School of American Ballet.
